CHOIR THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
The choir is an integral part of the worship services at the Ringwood Baptist Church. We sing each Sunday morning from September to July and as often as possible during the summer months. Our membership generally runs from 16 to 20 people, but increases to around 25 as we prepare for the biggest event of the year, our Candlelight Christmas Concert. Our main objective is to present worthwhile music with a meaningful text, sung as perfectly as we can. Our choir believes we should offer our very best efforts to the Lord, trusting He will bless and use our music for His honor and glory.
THE CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS CONCERT
The Candlelight Christmas Concert is traditional in style. We prepare approximately seventeen selections which include classical pieces, carol arrangements, and more contemporary anthems. Some of the pieces include instrumental accompaniments by flute or other solo instruments. The choir begins working on this music in late September, with the concert scheduled for the last Sunday before Christmas. We practice diligently with great attention to musical detail and interpretation, but the rehearsals are times of good fun and fellowship as well.
CHOIR FELLOWSHIP
We have a special event each year on the day before our Candlelight Christmas Concert. The group gathers at the director’s home for our dress rehearsal and then enjoys a time of fun and fellowship as we sit down together and share a buffet supper. It’s a special “family time” we all look forward to with great anticipation.
REHEARSALS
The choir rehearses each Wednesday evening at 8:15 pm and would be delighted to see new members. You’ll feel a warm welcome here.
